OI Philippines Founder invites Freedom President Cory Aquino to serve as Honorary Chair of OIP, counterpart to Prince Albert of Monaco at OI Worldwide

OI Philippines founder Marc Guerrero the advocacy journalist announced, initial moves were initiated to formally invite "Freedom President" of The Philippines, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, to serve and act as first Honorary Chair of Orphans International Worldwide - The Philippines (OIP).

A TIME "Woman of the Year" (1987), Mrs Aquino who was a widow of martyred Filipino hero, Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr, successor to the late President Ferdinand Marcos had he not been assassinated at the tarmac one high noon in 1983 at the full view of the world press, was the inspiration behind the world's First Peaceful People-Power Revolution at EDSA in 1986. The apolitical plain housewife who can speak fluent French ended, in three years of peaceful mass action, the 20-year strongman rule of Marcos. Some 26 years later today, however, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo pardoned all the accused in the Ninoy slay, sustaining the Marcos official line that a certain Rolando Galman had gunned down Ninoy that fateful day of the 21st of August 1983. Just like in the Kennedy assassination, no mastermind was punished for the high crime of killing a (would-be) President.

In an official letter of invitation by OIP dated 6 March 2009, Marc Guerrero, in his capacity as founding Executive Director of OIP and concurrently of theINSTITUTE of Health & Wellness PHILIPPINES Foundation Inc under which OIP is a partner, enjoined Mrs Aquino, that as OI Philippines Chair, "you shall be the Philippine and Asian counterpart of His Excellency, Prince Albert of Monaco, son of the late Prince Rainier and Princess Grace Kelly, who serve as chief advisor to Orphans International Worldwide (OIWW) for its global concerns."
